March 2025, Sandra reports:
"I decided to make these mini greenhouses from used bottles cut in half, the bottom half filled with earth and the top half as a cover to keep in the moisture while the seeds were germinating. The bottle bottoms were punctured for drainage. They are now thriving in a sunny window.
The 7" leafy plants grew from hardy peach seeds that I received when visiting with the Environment Action Group at Just Food Farm in Blackburn Hamlet. I put them in the fridge in the fall and just noticed recently that the baggie had roots growing.
Does anyone want a hardy peach tree for their garden?
The other bottles were used for basil and arugula seeds which quickly germinated with the bottle tops keeping the soil moist.
