Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the challenges facing our planet, this group learns about environmental issues and about efforts that promise to counteract global warming, reduce environmental pollution, or mitigate the loss of biodiversity.
We try to take effective action, as individuals and within groups.
Our Aims

To educate ourselves and others, learning from experts.
To encourage positive thinking.
To communicate effectively.
To advocate for change.
Our Objectives
To connect and collaborate with other groups and organizations.
To spread the word about environmental issues.
To become better informed, thus better prepared to take effective action.
To acquire good arguments in favour of change.
To make more environmentally-friendly decisions in our own lives.
To keep CFUW-Ottawa membership at large informed of our progress.

Approaching City Councillors, MPs and other decision-makers
Contributing to Engage Ottawa initiatives
Approaching company directors
Posting on social media
Making environmentally-friendly choices
Taking part in local park / shoreline clean-ups
Submitting articles to the local media, to the Capital Carillon or other newsletters
Becoming involved in Citizen Science projects
Participating in environmental campaigns
Joining pressure groups and signing petitions
Spreading the word about environmental issues
