There will be two guest speakers at this meeting. With more than 30 years of experience, Stan Cook began his career in the family adventure business and later took on the role of Adventure Tourism Advisor and Consultant for the famous Fogo Island Inn in Newfoundland. He has played a key role in developing sustainable tourism practices, and recently developed and hosted Atlantic Canada’s first Impact Sustainable Tourism conference. He has chaired the Gros Morne Institute of Sustainable Tourism for 26 years.
Karen Squires of MarCom Metrics Inc. has over thirty-five years experience of tourism marketing, communications and research. She and Mr. Cook will discuss how the tourism sector – together with local communities – can protect natural habitats and how we can all play a role by seeking out tourism experiences that have a positive impact on our destinations.
