The website and embedded files are all based on the Google Drive ecosystem. Google Drive offers a free, easily-accessible and shareable set of document and spreadsheet software. Tips for producing graphs are embedded in relevant labs. Here we'll cover some tips on using files in general.
Almost all of the files shared from the site are only shared for viewing. You can't edit the shared version (because then everyone else would see/erase/change your work). To use the shared spreadsheets or slides, you can make a copy (if you have a gmail account) or download them into other formats (e.g., PDF, xls (Excel), csv). Note spreadsheet formulas will not download into csv files, and some formulas are not shared between Google Sheets and Excel.
Select the expand icon (circled in yellow) to open the slides in full screen view. You can advance using arrow keys or mouse. You can also advance on the site itself (without going to full screen) by clicking the current slide with the mouse or selecting the reverse/forward arrows (circled in blue) . Alternatively, you can open the presentation in google slides if you have a Google Account by selecting the Google Slides Icon (circled in orange).
Once you open the presentation in Google Slides, you can make your own copy of it.
If you don't have a google account, you can also download ppt versions of the slides from https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xPAMW6Wo1FX5cLD37CPvPLEX1Y1-HDzj?usp=sharing. If a file is missing please update stephen.gosnell@baruch.cuny.edu. You should be able to take notes and view alt text in a similar manner.
Shared spreadsheets work in the same manner. Click the expand icon (highlighted in yellow), then choose the File option to download or make a copy (requires sign-in).
To save graphs you create in Sheets as an image (that you can then upload for grades), select the image, find the 3 dots in the top-right corner, and select Save Image. The graph will be uploaded as a .png file.
