Fundamentals of Ecology @ Baruch

Welcome to the Fundamentals of Ecology course @ Baruch.  On this site you'll find information on lecture and lab portions of the course. The combined course is designed to not require a textbook as part of Baruch and CUNY's Open Educational Resource Initiative.

Ecology is a dynamic field that studies the interactions between organisms and their environment.   The Fundamentals of Ecology course at Baruch is divided into a lecture and accompanying recitation portion (ENV 1003) and a laboratory portion (ENV 1004).  These courses respectively satisfy the Scientific World and Life and Physical Sciences portions of the CUNY Pathways requirements.  The course explores ecological characteristics and ecosystem processes through an evolutionary context and introduces students to the basic concepts of ecology through lectures, discussion, and hands-on activities.

You can check on material for lecture, recitation, and lab using menu tabs at the top of the screen.
