What We Do.
We are growing a community that recognizes an awakened consciousness; that acts with spirit-centered purpose across national, religious and ideological lines; and that invites people to remember who they truly are. We create sacred spaces in unusual places and seek to plant enduring Entheos communities that nurture healing at home.
Who We Are.
The Entheos Community is an active, growing and non-profit group of 600+ makers, healers, artists, thinkers, organizers and leaders from 35 countries. We have gathered around our common interest in the exploration of healing trauma, raising consciousness and encouraging creative new ways of living in the world together. Many of us actively participate in healing communities, work in medical and psychological research, facilitate intimate experience with the sacred and are active participants in exploring the evolution of consciousness.
Entheos Defined
Entheos (ἔνθεος) is a Greek word which literally translates to, “the god within.” In classical speculation on art, inspired genius was said to be entheos, “filled with god,” and because (s)he utters divine words was able to give “birth to beauty.”
Entheos speaks to the wakening of the Spirit within, and by it we mean that the authentic self, the creative, artistic and passionate being of a person, is the fundamental locus of their divinity.
The English word "enthusiasm" is derived from entheos, as are the words "entheogen" and "entheogenic," both of which refer to substances, typically of plant origin, that are used to produce a non-ordinary state of consciousness for religious or spiritual purposes.
By entheos we are not referencing a specific religion, faith or creed, rather we are pointing to a universal and personal experience of the sacred which we believe is most clearly recognized when we gather as a community with creative and healing intention.
