Book Checkout

Students may check out books for up to 14 days. All books are due on the student's next Media Activity day. Students can return books to the Book Drop outside of our school principal's office. Students have the opportunity to check out new books during their activity class. As soon as students bring back their previously checked-out books, students may choose new ones. Not sure what to get? Ask me for a recommendation! I am always happy to help! Students and parents may also look through our library catalog (Destiny) to find books that look interesting. In addition to the link here, you can also find a link to Destiny on the library's home page.

  • Kindergarten and first-grade students are able to check out one book at a time.

  • Second grade through Sixth grade students may check out up to two books at a time.

Late Fees and Lost or Damaged Books

There are no late fees for books. Please bring your book back as soon as possible. Students will not be allowed to check out new books until their previous checkouts have been returned.

Unfortunately, accidents sometimes happen.

Protect your student's library books from leaky water bottles or juice spills by keeping them in a ziplock bag as they travel to and from school.

Please keep library books away from pets and young children.

If a book is damaged beyond repair (this includes wet and/or chewed!) or lost, families will be asked to pay for the cost of replacing the book or have the option to send in a new hardcover book as a replacement. Students will receive a letter of notification if this is an issue.

About Your Librarian

Nice to Meet You!

I am Mrs. Villegas, the Library Media Specialist at Enterprise Elementary. I strive to make the library an engaging and welcoming place for all students.

Throughout the year, I will be promoting a variety of fiction and nonfiction books. I will do my very best to get (or keep!) your students hooked on reading by recommending specific materials to each individual. At each grade level, students will be learning from a curriculum that emphasizes literature, research, and STEAM-based projects. We're always having fun!

I tell our students that I've got the best job in the world. It's true! Here's why:

As our school librarian, I get to see our Enterprise Explorers grow up each and every school year. For many of our students, this means I'll see them from their first day of kindergarten to their last day as a sixth-grade student. No matter what their interests are, I know that at some point we'll connect. I love being able to provide kids with access to books and resources that inspire them, keep them informed, and help them find happiness. Seeing the smile on a child's face when I can help them find something they will love fills my heart with joy. It's the best feeling, and I get to do it every day!

I hope your life is filled with lots of love, happiness, and amazing stories to share!
