🌸In March 2016, Mozart’s Oboe Quartet drifted through the museum lobby....
From that moment, a quiet journey began — now in its tenth year.
Ensemble Blumentöne has since nurtured its sound, drawing on classical repertoire for chamber music and chamber orchestra.

🌸Spring Concert 2026 – Post‑Concert Report】
On a gentle spring afternoon at TOPPAN Hall, we successfully concluded our “Spring Concert 2026.” We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the many guests who chose to spend their precious Sunday with us.
The first half featured Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 15 followed by Mozart’s Gran Partita, offering a rich exploration of chamber music. In the second half, we welcomed renowned oboist Ken-Ichi Furube to perform the oboe version of Mozart’s Flute Concerto No. 1 in G major, transposed to F major, and concluded with Schubert’s Symphony No. 5. The program traced a musical journey through late‑18th to early‑19th‑century Vienna.
Although the concert extended beyond two and a half hours from the 1:30 p.m. start, the warmth and beauty of Mr. Furube’s sound—especially in the second movement of the concerto—created a deeply moving moment shared by both audience and performers. Given the rarity of performances using this special score, it truly became a “once‑in‑a‑lifetime experience.”
We hope our audience felt the subtle transition from the Classical to the early Romantic style as they made their way home.
We will continue striving to bring you even more wonderful music.
We look forward to welcoming you again at our future concerts.

~Ensemble Blumentone~
The ensemble was founded in March 2016 as a quartet of oboe and strings for a lobby concert at a corporate art museum.
As new members joined, our activities gradually expanded to include string quartets and other chamber works, leading to our first “Spring Concert” at Yotsuya Civic Hall in May 2017.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, we resumed our activities in spring 2022.
We began presenting concerts in a small “music festival” style, featuring Mozart’s concertos and symphonies with chamber orchestra.
In the autumn of the same year, we held a chamber music concert at the Azabu Community Centre Hall.
We now focus on two regular concerts each year — in spring and autumn — as we continue to enrich our musical activities.
For this year’s spring concert, we are honored to welcome Mr. Kenichi Furube, one of Japan’s leading oboists and conductors, as we aim for further artistic growth.
“Blumentöne” is a coined German word meaning “melodies of blooming flowers.”
Just like the flowers that flourish in each season, we hope to bring beautiful music to your hearts.
