IMPACT OF HUMANITARIAN AID IN CONFLICT
IMPACT OF HUMANITARIAN AID IN CONFLICT
Humanitarian aid is a material and logistic assistance to people who need help. It is usually short-term help until the long-term help by the government replaces it. Humanitarian aid has become an increasingly important tool for addressing the needs of communities affected by conflict and natural disasters. In conflict-affected areas, humanitarian aid can provide life saving assistance, such as food, water, shelter, and medical care to those in need.
This support can help to mitigate the effects of the crisis and provide a lifeline for those struggling to survive. When large number of people are affected by conflict they are in urgent need of aid. Aid reduces the impact on communities, limiting deaths and suffering and assisting people to return to their lives. Across Syria and in the neighboring countries, UNICEF and partners continue to work to protect children, to help cope with the impact of conflict. This includes improving psychosocial support to help children and caregivers recover from trauma, as well as delivering lifesaving support and services for children struggling physically and psychologically.
Working with partners, UNICEF continues to deliver assistance including hygiene kits, safe drinking water, and screening and treatment of malnutrition. Humanitarian aid can be in different forms. For example- in Afghanistan, the ICRC assists five hospitals, the aim being to improve the quality of surgical treatment for war casualties and to provide regular supplies of medicines. In Somalia in 1992, several different kinds of assistance were provided by the ICRC, including food relief (120,000 tonnes), a veterinary program, an agricultural program and one in support of medical facilities.
One of the key impacts of humanitarian aid in conflicts is its ability to reduce suffering and save lives. In many conflict-affected areas civilians are at risk of harm, and access to essential services and supplies is limited. Humanitarian organization work to provide these services and supplies to those who need them most, reducing the risk of harm and improving the quality of life for affected communities.

Another impact of humanitarian aid in conflict is its ability to address the needs of the most vulnerable groups, such as women and children. Children are particularly vulnerable in conflict affected areas and are often at risk of violence, exploitation, and abuse.
Humanitarian organizations work to provide protection and support to children, including through the provision of education, health services, and psychological support. Women, who often bear the burnt of conflict and disasters, are also a priority for humanitarian aid organizations, who work to address their specific needs and protect their rights.
Humanitarian aid can also help to promote stability and peace in conflict-affected areas. By provided basic needs and support to communities, humanitarian organizations can also help to reduce tensions and prevent further conflict. Humanitarian aid can also provide opportunity for different groups to work together towards a common goal, helping to build trust and promote reconciliation.
One example of the impact of humanitarian aid in conflict is the situation in Syria. The Syria conflict has created one of the largest humanitarian crises of 21st century, with millions of people displaced and in need of assistance.
Humanitarian organizations have been working to provide live-saving aid to those affected by the conflict, including food, water, shelter, and medical care. Through their efforts many lives have been saved and communities have been supported in their time of need.
In conclusion, humanitarian aid has a significant impact in conflict-affected areas. By providing life-saving assistance, supporting vulnerable groups, promoting stability and peace, and
addressing the needs of those affected by crisis.
