What an amazing day at Keshet School in Mazkeret Batya!
Today, our students listened, learned, and spoke English for three hours, thanks to 20 wonderful volunteers. Two of the volunteers are graduates of the school who are now serving as soldiers — a meaningful connection for our students!
The children were engaged, curious, and really enjoyed the experience. I was so proud of them.
One parent said:
“Wow! We put so much effort into just 20 minutes - it really made me appreciate how much teachers do…”
Exactly!

Grade 6 students at Shai Agnon School in Kfar Saba completed a creative book report project after reading an English book at their level. The writing was done at school with clear guidance. Students made a cereal box based on the book. Each box shows the characters, plot, problem, setting, and the student’s opinion. They also designed a cover, added a game on the back, and put a small prize inside. The students worked with focus and enthusiasm.
Special thanks to teachers Erica and Mira for leading this inspiring project!

On Wednesday, November 18, we (Galit Yona and Kinneret Lotem Yamhod) visited the Ecological School in Yavne.
We observed a unique and inspiring special-education English lesson in the third grade, taught by Ms. Katia Ben-Yehuda. Her warm, caring approach and effective integration of SEL were clearly evident. We were highly impressed by the level and engagement of the third-grade students.
Afterwards, we met with the principal, Ms. Shosh Gofstein, who spoke with us about the school, its history and its distinct ecological qualities. We were pleased to learn that the school received a prestigious innovation award last year.
We toured the campus and saw the hydroponic garden, the beautiful grounds, and the agricultural and field-study programs in which the students participate. We also visited the library and were thrilled to see English books
We also met with the English coordinator, Ms. Oshrat Cohen, who shared further insights about the school and its unique strengths.
Following our visit and our meetings with the principal and staff, the principal told us of her plan to have an English hall with “talking walls“. We suggested that the school integrate aspects of ecology, agricultural studies, and fieldwork into English-language learning. The principal and staff expressed interest and asked to keep us updated.
