First Day Interviews

Instructions

  1. If you feel comfortable working in a group, form one of 3-4. If you do not feel comfortable working in a group, you may work on your own. Note: this group will be the one that you stay with for the semester.

  2. Take a few minutes to discuss with your group/write notes on your responses to the six Interview Questions.

  3. Decide on any questions you would like to ask me.

  4. Post your notes and questions (either individually or as a group) in the In-Class Activities Padlet (click here or the link on the navigation bar).

  5. We will come together as a class to discuss your responses and to give you time to ask questions of me.

Interview questions

  1. What are your goals for this course?

  2. How can the instructor best help you achieve your goals?

  3. What concerns, if any, do you have about this course?

  4. What positives or resources do you bring to this course? This is not physical resources (such as pen, laptop, etc.), but resources inside of you.

  5. What norms of behavior or ground rules should we set up to ensure that the course is successful?

  6. What are some of your pet peeves of professors and classes? What are some annoying traits of professors that you’ve had?
