I learn most effectively when I am calm and well rested. I also learn most effectively when there are no distractions. I prefer when things are visually presented to me, doing hands on assignments and when given extra time.
My negative experience that impacted my learning was when I didn’t have to learn cursive because of my IEP in second grade. I wish a could have learned cursive because when I get a letter or a card that's in cursive, I can’t read it. When I was in 8th grade my English teacher wanted everyone to write in cursive.
My positive experience that impacted my learning was working hard to get straight A’s. I’m dedicated in all my classes so I can be the preschool teacher that I always wanted to be, and I am dedicated to my work ethic. Last semester I was on the dean’s list for achieving the highest grades. Being on the dean’s list will push me to work harder in my classes to get good grades.
Cursive has not impacted my school performances because all my assignments are on the computer.
My positive experience being on the dean's list will motivate me to continue being on the list.
Playing video games can help you learn by having fun. Some people learn in different ways to succeed. Video games are not just for learning, they can help you explore different things. Also, video games can help you customize your learning style. It’s cool that you can learn by playing video games. When James Paul Glee was in his dark times, he began to play video games to make him feel happy. James helped his son with strategies by playing video games. If you don’t really like to talk to people, I think this is a good way for you to interact with people.
For week 3 I have no questions. So far I'm liking this class. I will continue to work hard on expanding my paragraphs with details. Your feedback on every assignment is helping me where I need to be at writing paragraphs. Making a website will help me look at my mistakes that way I won't keeping making them.
For week 6th week reflection I want to be a better writer. I want to be on the dean's list again this semester. Some assignments I been waiting the last minute to them so I want to be better at not waiting the last minute to do my assignments. I realized that I need extra help on my project one assignment so I am getting a tutor. I keep telling myself over again never give up when things are hard. I am thankful for my family who keeps reminding me that I am doing awesome in school.
For week 7 we can learn from Dumas' experience that everyone should take the time to pronounced names the right way. Moving to a different country is not easy. Names are so powerful and mean a lot. Also, everyone should be kind to others because you never know what people are going through. I think her writing style is strong and powerful. I don't think I can write the her writing style.
For week 8 I learned to breakup the text when the text is difficult. I try to focus on one paragraphs before I start to the next so I can understand it better. Reading the text out loud multiple times helps me understand difficult text but sometimes I will have to look up words that I don't know. I would say I need more time with difficult text because some the the articles I don't understand them. I feel like I am getting better at taking notes on difficult text.
For week 11 I learned for revision that their are different ways you can revise your draft. The most helpful on revision has been the feedback on my draft. I just need to sit down and finish and revise project 1 and 2 so that way I'm not so stress out when it comes to do project 3. My goal is two have project 1 and 2 finished by April 7. Having feedback on my drafts helps me so much.
For week 12 MLA format stands out to me by having a strong essay. MLA format is difficult to write but it gets easier when you practice. I think college students are required to learn citation format because in the future your career or not you will need to have evidence to support your claim. Also, to learning citation format it can help other people understanding what you are trying to say. Learning MLA format will help you in the future.
