To the portfolio committee
When it was time to apply for college I was very anxious and overwhelmed. Before college was on an IEP which I had modifications with writing paragraphs. My IEP advisor would help me get started and coming up with things to write so I would have paragraphs. When it was time to to start English class 0097 I was so stressed out with all of the assignments I had to do. Also, when I found out had to do MLA format I got more stressed out.
Writing is not one of my strengths when it comes to summarizing in MLA format. Having to do summarizing in MLA format with different topics to wright about. Some of the topics we had to wright were, genre, reorical situation, audience, and purpose. I thought to myself their is no way I am going to be able to do this English class but thankfully I am awesome professor that help me when I needed it. Having a professor wanting to help you with your assignments I was able to write in MLA format.
Out of the 5 articles to summarize and take notes on was The F word was difficult to read. Most of the words I had no idea want they met. I wouldn't be able to summarize if google wasn't around. Once I was able to figure out the words better I was am to summarize and take notes.

When it was time to apply for college I was very anxious and overwhelmed. Throughout elementary and high school I was on an IEP which included modifications with writing including extra time. My IEP advisor would help me get started by coming up with things to write so I could build more extensive paragraphs. Therefore, prior to starting English 0097 I was a bit stressed and anxious. My anxiety increased when I realized I had a lot of assignments to complete. I had never been introduced to the MLA format for writing so that caused more stress.
Writing is not one of my strengths when it comes to summarizing in MLA format as well as reading comprehension. During this English 0097 class, some of the topics we had to write about were genre, rhetorical situation, audience, and purpose. I thought to myself there's no way I am going to be able to do this English class. However, with the support of my awesome professor and assistance from my parents I was able to learn a great deal about writing and successfully complete the class. With a patient professor encouraging me and helping I was able to learn the MLA format. The peer reviews throughout this course were also very helpful.
The most difficult article for me to summarize and take notes on this semester was the F word article. Most of the words I had no idea what they meant. I relied on google to clarify definitions in order for me to summarize the article. Once I was able to understand the words better I was able to summarize and take notes.
