These posters represent preliminary findings for projects that emerged over the course of the semester.
Some respond to the texts that the class read over the course of the semester. Others take their point of origin from the selections that Thomas Jefferson made for his Literary Commonplace Book, available online through the Library of Congress. Materials the class viewed at the University of Maryland's Special Collections, especially those from collections associated with Maryland, the digitized Maryland Map Collection, and holdings in the early modern period, provided the inspiration for inquiry for the remainder.
These posters are working drafts. They provide overviews of research questions, possible avenues for investigation, and potentially useful sources.
