The commonplace books that attracted me most was the one titled "miscellaneous poetry", which was described as "Thirty-one poems by a variety of authors." Because this commonplace book was compiled by a "variety of authors", there is no singular name attached to the book. The books that I was looking for were from 1651-1700, and most of the ones I stumbled across on the library site were written by men, and covered topics such as philosophy, morals, religion and the arts, and had long extensive titles.
