Activities and Assessment

You will accumulate credit toward your final grade in this course. This means that at most points in the course, your grade will be lower than your final grade. 

Periodically (around Weeks 3, 6, and 9), I will send you an update about your grade.

Within 2 weeks of the course start, I will also make a self-assessment tool available so you can estimate and project your grade based upon completed work.

The chart below models the grade accrual for a hypothetical student who: 

• turns in each project activity on time

• completes 1 engagement milestone per week

• turns in 3 reading responses per 2 weeks

Several additional observations about this chart:

• This amount of activity is more than you need for a maximum grade of "A" in the course

• Even moving at this somewhat quicker pace, the maximum possible grade by Week 6 is "B-".

• This chart also models the "workload" for the course, in terms of assignment opportunities due per week. Therefore you may find this chart useful in planning your time for this course.
