Week 8 Reflection

This week we learned more about the sensors and sort of brainstorming ideas of what are the potentials of these sensors. One that really caught my eye was this gas sensor. I found it extremely interesting it was able to detect concentration of gases like methane and hydrogen. This could be helpful to install into homes and cars, not like a smoke detector. But to be able to shut off valves or have alerts on the phone.

As we worked on our group lab project it was interesting how we continually advanced our design. See first we said we would cut a hole for the string attached to servo to pull down the pump. Then to make it even more simple we would just glue the string to the top of the pump. But finally we decided to cut a groove on the top of the pump so the string will sit on. These constant changes is what makes this engineering project so interesting. There is no correct answer, and we can continue to improve as time goes on.
