2a: Creating an Environment of Respect and Rapport
Building relationships with students is one of my favorite things about teaching. This takes time, and students need to gain trust. I am careful not to force these relationships, but let them grow naturally. I feel that I am very kind and relatable to students by showing that I support their success in the classroom, and am equally interested in their personal lives. At the same time, I feel that I maintain the line between being friendly and being a "friend" so that students know that I still uphold expectations.
2b: Establishing a Culture for Learning
My main goal is for students to put passion back in to learning. I want students to truly enjoy learning and find what they are passionate about. I can promote this by creating a fun and engaging learning environment for my students. When students are having fun, they are more likely to want to learn! I do my best to differentiate in all areas and create exciting opportunities.
