The Growing Success Policy Document serves as a guide to shape my approach to practicum teaching, providing a foundation for my knowledge, understanding, and beliefs.
Achievement Levels
When working with students, it can be challenging to gauge the appropriate achievement level for their grades. The Growing Success document will help me apply the consistent criteria for achievement levels 1–4 across various subjects. Accurate grading is essential, and I aim to reference these levels throughout my practicum to ensure fair and consistent evaluation.
Assessment for Learning; Assessment as Learning
The Growing Success Policy highlights the importance of Assessment for Learning and Assessment as Learning. This approach will inform my practicum by reminding me to incorporate different assessment types in daily practices. Using both approaches supports a seamless assessment process, helping students understand their progress and learning goals, while also providing teachers with insight into each student’s needs.
Special Education Needs
The Growing Success Policy outlines specific considerations for students with special education needs, including modifications, accommodations, and alternative programming. This policy underscores the importance of inclusive practices and helps clarify how to support diverse learners effectively.

Connections to Use and/or Quality
This relates to quality because I am critical thinking about the Success Policy. I use the evidence from the policy to apply to both my practicum teaching block and assessment. Additionally, I also want to ensure fair assessment to all students including students with special needs and this relates to the quality of assessment.
