Practical Task- Group MasterChef Cook off
Task Overview
· In pairs create a recipe that can be cooked on a Trangia and to be taken on camp.
· You must include ALL details needed for this recipe to be followed by someone else.
· You also must be able to justify your meal choice including; nutritional value, weight and packaging/waste.
· The meal must include a minimum of 2 Vegetables (Hot dogs and Noodles are not allowed)
Meal: Cheese toastie and salad
Ingredients
Bread
Cheese
butter
lettuce
tomato
avocado
cucumber
carrot
Italian dressing
Method
Grab 2 slices of bread and place cheese on the inside then butter one side and put that on the pan then while the other side is down butter the top side and then when you think the other side is ready, check it, if it is then flip the toastie over.

This meal is easy and nutritional and high in carbs and fibres for energy throughout the day.

What worked? What did not work? What would you change?
The salad did obviously work but with the toasties smaller portions of cheese would be necessary the next time we cook it just because we didn’t give it as much time as it needed to melt so if we need to cook the food quickly smaller portions would be better.
