Adult Recognition
The Service Unit offers several opportunities throughout the year for troops and individual Scouts of all levels to be recognized for their hard work. Leaders are encouraged to work on the Super Troop and Community Awareness Patches through the year. Email us if you have questions about our recognition opportunities.
Do you have a Super Troop?
The Super Troop designation is earned when a troop plans and executes a well-balanced Scout year. Earning badges, supporting the work of the Service Unit, working with other troops, utilizing Council resources and being in the great outdoors are just a few of the criteria considered. Troop Leaders from all Scout Levels are encouraged to apply.
The Community Awareness Patch may be earned by an individual girl or by a Troop of any level. The Patch is earned by making a visable impact in the community by showing Girl Scout pride, helping others and making the world a better place.
The Educational Award is due May 1st and is offered by the Service Unit to Girl Scouts who are graduating from high school and will be attending college or entering another credentialing program in the fall. The Education Award is supported by proceeds from the Service Unit’s fundraising events and provides financial assistance to graduating Scouts so that they may continue, via their studies and co-curricular involvement, to make the world a better place.
Service to Girl Scouting Bar Award Any Cadette/Senior/Ambassador Scout who volunteers 20+ hours to the Service Unit qualifies for this Award from Girl Scouts. Volunteer hours can be earned at any of our Service Unit events - the Cookie Drop, Juliette Gordon Low Birthday Party, helping or at Camporee. Volunteer opportunities will be shared with Leaders to pass along to their Scouts.
