Want to sign up your daughter as a Girl Scout?
The Bronze Award is earned by Juniors as a troop or as individuals by completing a Journey, and then creating a Take Action project based on their observations of a local issue. Earning the Girl Scout Bronze Award involves the time it takes to complete a Girl Scout Junior journey and a suggested minimum of 20 hours for each girl to build their team, explore their community, choose and plan their project, put their plan in motion, and spread the word to educate and inspire others.
Congratulations to the following troops that earned their Bronze:
As of November 2024
Troop 80461 - Troop members built Kid Kids - kits with toys, activities and inspirational notes for kids at St. Peters University Medical Center.
As of November 2023
Troop 80231 - Assisted the Edison Animal shelter by making dog beds, dog tug toys and cat feather wands. Visited the Animal shelter to learn more about their needs and then hosted a community carnival to raise awareness (and the much-needed funds) to help. (Over $700!). Proceeds were used to purchase food, beds, and toys. To ensure the sustainability they visited a Daisy troop and taught them how to make dog blankets.
As of September 2022
Troop 80245 - Made improvements to Camp Oak Spring in Somerset by painting/repairing the 10 "bear boxes" located at campsites for campers to store their dry goods away from animals. Scouts also repainted each site's sign and several of the signposts located throughout the camp.
As of June 2021
Troop 80007 - Researched the issue of hunger in their community, making a video about the topic and coordinating a community food/gift card drive for the Metuchen Food Pantry.
