How to delete your Gmail account

1. Go to your account on Google.

2. Click "Data and privacy" on the left side.

3. Scroll down to "Data from apps and services you use."

4. Click Delete a Google service under "Download or delete your data."

5. Type in your passphrase.

6. Click the trash can button next to "Gmail."

7. You can't use a different Gmail address to sign in to Google services. Instead, enter an email address you already have and click "Send verification email."

8. Open the email from Google and click on the link to close your account.

9. Select "Yes, I want to delete my Gmail account" when asked.

10. Click "Delete Gmail" and then "Done."
