Who We Are

The EL MINISTRY NEPAL is a family ministry for evangelism. We believe that every ministry should start from a family. We aim to reach the other families with the biblical and theological teachings. We minister based in Kathmandu, Nepal. ElMin strives for biblically and contextually relevant theological content for the meaningful impact in the daily lives of the people and diverse ministries—including churches, mission fields, NGOs, and Christian organizations—for the glory of God.

Our History

ElMin began with the conviction that churches in Nepal needed something more than just another mission institute or seminary. Nepal needed a reputable evangelical mission-focused centre that held on to the centrality of the Christian gospel, as well as pursued reputable higher theological learning to equip people to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century. In the summer of 2018 in Kathmandu, Pastor Tirtha Bdr Tamang and Mr. Mangal Bdr Tamang shared their dreams. Like-minded people in Kathmandu agreed on the need for expository preaching in the Nepali context. As there was no real infrastructure within which to do this, it was suggested that the work be started by the own small cottage in Kathmandu. Pastor Tirtha Bdr Tamang, then the secretary, prepared a manual for ministers with the help of Mr. Mangal Bdr Tamang and the book published in October 2019 amid enthusiastic support from church leaders and family.

As applications continued to come in, it was decided to publish the hymns and gospel songs and the video sermons in the Nepali context.

Managing Director

Mangal Bdr Tamang is a PhD scholar, has been serving as the adjunct professor of Systematic Theology since June 2019. He and his wife Hema live in Bangalore, India and have a boy Mahem. His passion is to equip and train the pastors and leaders of Nepal for the Church ministry. Therefore Mr. Tamang dedicates a considerable amount of time in preaching and teaching ministry by conducting various seminars and forming discipleship groups in the Church. Mr. Tamang has completed his M.Th. from Evangelical Theological Seminary Bangalore, India and BA from Tirbhuvan University of Nepal. While assisting as a teacher at the Seminary, Mr. Tamang also enjoys serving in a Church at Dinapoli, Bagalur road, Tamilnadu (Bangalore).

Executive Director

Tirtha Bdr Tamang has been serving as the pastor of Jyoti Mahima Nazarene Church (Shinning Glory Church of The Nazarene) since January 2019. He and his wife Shirjana live in Lubhoo, Lalitpur and have a girl Gracy. His passion is to equip and train the leaders of the church. Therefore Mr. Tamang dedicates a considerable amount of time in preaching and teaching ministry by conducting various seminars and forming discipleship groups in the church. Mr. Tirtha has completed his M.Div. from Logos Bible College, Haiderabad, India and MBA from University of Madras, India. While pastoring the Church, Mr. Tamang also enjoys serving as a project manager at Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, Kathmandu, Nepal.
