23/4/26 - Led by INESC-ID, the Sustainable Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (SAIL) will establish a world-class Centre of Excellence focused on sustainable and trustworthy Artificial Intelligence. The project brings together leading European AI institutions — Max Planck Institute for Software Systems and German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence — and represents a €27.2 million investment in Portugal’s research and innovation capacity through funding from the European Union, the Portuguese Government, and INESC. 

4/3/26 - This year's ELLIS Doctoral Symposium will be hosted by the ELLIS Unit Lisbon at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon from the 27 - 30th July. All PhD students and postdocs working in AI, ML or a related field can register to attend. More information can be found on the EDS website. 

15/12/25 - European Consortium launches EuroLLM-22B, a fully open LLM built for all 24 EU languages, setting a new benchmark for multilingual AI backed by EU-made supercomputing power.
