ELLIS student perspectives

Kevin Alcedo is a 2nd year PhD student working with Pedro Lima (Lisbon) and Rachid Alami (CNRS-LAAS Toulouse). His work centres on developing Neuro-Symbolic World Models as a core primitive in cognitive architectures, with the goal of endowing robots with an algorithmic theory-of-mind to improve Human-Robot Interaction and Teaming. Peiqin Lin is a 4th year PhD student working with Hinrich Schütze (LMU Munich) and André Martins (Lisbon). His research focuses on multilingual language models. He did his exchange in Lisbon in 2023, where he spent three months. Read more about his experience here. 

Haau-Sing Li is a 4th year PhD student working with Iryna Gurevych (Darmstadt) and André Martins (Lisbon) in Natural Language Processing. His research focuses on code generation, reranking and test-time improvement of LLMs. He spent a year in Lisbon as part of his exchange. Read more about his experience here.
