The ELLIS Unit Lisbon is a unit of the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS), a pan-European network that promotes research excellence and advances breakthroughs in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). 

Our mission is to become the leading AI & ML research unit in Portugal focusing on Human-Interacting Responsible AI, and help develop open, explainable, trustworthy, and efficient AI.
