The 126km route was mostly along unpaved farm roads which were in pretty good condition. Mike rode shotgun so I again had the privilege to lead the convoy. and avoid the dust.
Mike remarked on a "new" sound that appeared to be coming from my Defender's gearbox. Later on in the afternoon we discussed this with Joe who listened and indicated it could be related to the clutch release bearing or gear bearings. With 220,000km on a 20 year old vehicle, this would be expected. Mike recommended that I should take it through to Land Rover Extreme in Pretoria on Monday for further investigation. This would be an ideal opportunity to give the vehcile a full service along with other items that I want to be addressed.
We passed some bungalows that included this awesome statue made from wood
We stopped near Lesoba Chalets to view the rock outcrop called Queen Victoria
We visited the Jackals Hill Cheese cafe, LA FROMAGERIE, and enjoyed cheese platters for lunch
