It was raining today so I was quick about the fieldwork, I didn’t want to get soaked or for my papers to get soaked, I ended up just typing my information and adding to my papers once I got home.
The rain revived the stream quite a bit, it looks more like it’s supposed to now.
I even saw a frog, which unfortunately I didn’t get a photo of, as it jumped under two large rocks in the water before I could.
I was a little surprised that things like the pH, conductivity, and temperature didn’t change as much as I’d expected. The conductivity actually went up from Monday, the temp went down a degree, and the pH stayed the same.
I took the soil samples around my house, it was a little hard due to just how much vegetation is around it.
Some of the samples are farther away from the house because of how big some of the grass is, and also wasps, I didn’t feel like getting stung.
The image of the five sample sites is out dated because there is no satellite view image from this year, the farthest sample is actually just outside the gate to the backyard fence, all samples (except for the one closest to the house) are in high traffic areas.
It’ll be interesting to see the results later as I do live in a rather old house.
pH: 5*
Conductivity: 72
Temp (C): 18.7º
*As a note; the narrow range pH stripe didn't go low enough, it only goes down to 6,0 and the wide range was a 5
