There was an abundance of dragonflies at the stream today, it was honestly a little ridiculous. For most of the time I was there multiple dragonflies would periodically zoom past me.
The stream score pretty damn low on the Multimetric Index, some of that is probably my fault as I didn’t stay as long as I could’ve, but also I had already sampled three different riffles three/four times each. I was kinda done.
I got 31 macroinvertebrates in total, 1 was a worm, 2 were Flatworms, 4 were Stoneflies, 2 were Mayflies, 19 of them were Common Net spinners, 2 were Caddisflies, 2 were True Flies, and 1 was a gilled snail. Although that last one was hard to see so it could’ve been a lunged snail.
While I was there the neighbor’s dog, Gunner, came to say hi. He’s a very sweet boy, his tail wags in helicopter circles and he whines and pushes into your legs like he’s been deprived of affection every time you pet him.
