This is the documentation for a Second Life role play gadget. Its major features are recording and scoring of your sexual activity, autonomously talking to people you meet, and listening to commands from others to compel you to do things.

The Stepford Implant requires RLV to be activated in your viewer.

I'm continuously developing the implant's features and story. All updates and upgrades are free of charge.

Manual And Automatic Upgrade

Automatically: Keep the current version attached and simply add the new version to your avatar. It will copy the settings from the implant you're wearing and detach the older one after. Making a backup first is highly recommended!

Manually: To upgrade from an older version:

Backup your settings to the included backup stick (touch and select "Backup" from the menu).
Use the safeword key to detach the old implant.
Attach the new implant.
Restore the settings from said backup stick (touch and select "Restore" from the menu).

Background Story

The idea of the Stepford Implant chip is very loosely referring to the story of the The Stepford Wives, but instead of the wife being replaced by an android, it controls the wives' minds to transform them into android-like being. Starting with speech control which forces her to talk dirty, over obeying to commands in local chat, to the scoring of various aspects of her sexual life.

The main difference to collars and similar gadgets is that you're not controlled by a person, but by the chip. While others may use the chip's interfaces (mainly local chat), the ultimate control is the chip itself.

The implant is a chip attached to back of your the neck. It’s not rigged, so you may have to adjust its position.

The implant processes local chat and listens to commands that contain the name of the implant wearer. If the wearer uses display names with non text characters the implant may have issues in word recognition.

The implant is not able to process the contents of instant messages - no LSL/RLV gadget is, because IMs are an entirely different system.

Disclaimer & Privacy

The Stepford Implant is a role play toy. The fidelity score of a Stepford Wife is computed by various means, most of which she doesn’t control, like bumping into or standing too close to other avatars. This toy shall not be cause for relationship drama, nor am I the arbitrator. The fidelity tags are meant to be fun. If you’re offended or upset by the arbitrary scoring or the tagging, don’t use the implant. DO NOT contact me about the meaning of specific tags or scores, because there is NONE. It’s a toy. Thank you.
The Stepford Implant talks dirty. It's an adult entertainment gadget. Try the demo before you buy the full version to see if that's your cup of tea.
This is an entertainment role play toy. I do not support misogyny, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia or any other kind of misanthropy. People who approach me with any kind of forementioned attitudes (outside of role play) are instantly blocked.
The implant is not a collar; there's no menu control, most interaction is carried out via local chat. The implant is made for people who enjoy local chat role play. However, feel free to use a collar in addition.
The Stepford Implant doesn't connect with external servers, collect data or sends me messages about a user's activities, location or scores; I don't know who's wearing one and who isn't unless you're in the same region as I am (the radar feature). It does not disclose identities of 3rd parties to me, your partner or your owner. The Stepford API, if used by other creators, has no access to your implant in any way unless you're wearing their products.

Preparing Your Open Collar for the Stepford Slave Implant

Use at own risk! I do not take any responsibility for damages to your collar!

Only works for the Stepford Slave Implant!

In order to make your Open Collar work with the Stepford Slave Implant, it is necessary to install a plugin script in your collar. There are two alternative ways to do so:

Alternative 1: Use the Stepford Implant OC Relay Updater that comes with the implant. Add it to your HUD and follow the instructions of your collar.

Alternative 2: Copy the script stepford-oc-relay.lsl from the updater into your inventory. Rez your collar on the ground and drop the script stepford-oc-relay.lsl into its contents. I recommend to change the collar's name a bit so you'd be able to recognise this modified version. Pick the collar up and use it.

Trouble Shooting

The implant's RLV relay won't turn on

Most likely, you have another RLV relay running, possibly the one in your collar. The implant's relay will only turn on when there's no other active relay. Check your local chat for messages from the implant. Solution: Turn off the other relay and try again.

How do I update my implant?

You can always get the latest version of the implant using redelivery. Make a backup of the one you're wearing and simply attach the new one. I should copy all scores from the old one. When done, the old one detaches. Also make sure you are using the correct Status HUD.

My implant update didn't copy my scores

If for whatever reason the updated implant didn't copy your scores, here's a way to go:

Use the safeword key to detach the new implant.
Attach the previous version. Give it time to start.
Get a fresh backup stick by clicking on the USB stick symbol in the Status HUD.
Add that stick to your avatar. It appears above your head.
In the backup stick's menu select "Backup". Don't detach the stick.
Use the safeword key again to detach the previous version implant.
Add the new implant. Give it time to start.
Touch the backup stick above your head and select "Restore" from its menu.
Detach the backup stick.

Final advice: Before updating ALWAYS make a backup.

The implant is too restrictive or not restrictive enough

With several thousands of users, it is impossible to meet all tastes. In general, the implant uses RLV for actions, but does not necessarily restrain the wearer. Hard restraints can be achieved by numerous other gadgets like Open Collar. Some of the restraints may seems harsh (like no talking with cum in mouth), but there is usually an easy and role play way to get out of them. However, I am open to suggestions, so please, share your thoughts and ideas.

The implant keeps detaching itself

The Stepford Implant checks for an RLVa-enabled viewer, and detaches automatically if it doesn't find one. Solution: Use an RLVa-enabled viewer (for example Firestorm). To enable RLVa in the Firestorm Viewer, from the menu at the top of the screen, go to Avatar > Preferences > Firestorm (on the left) > General (on the top), and then check the box that reads, "Allow Remote Scripted Viewer Controls (RLVa)". Finally, click on OK. Then relog (log out and back in).

DEBUG messages are flooding my chat

You have accidentally enabled the debug mode. Long-touch the silent button (the smiley) in the HUD to disable the debug mode.

Does the built-in RLV relay have an Ask mode?

Yes. Turn on the internal relay and touch the button to toggle between auto and ask mode. Ask mode may cause all kinds of issues with furniture and equipment, so use at own risk.

I am using an RLV gag and the implant keeps me talking

When the implant uses speech control, it redirects your local chat and processes your chat messages. RLV gags usually do the same, which means 2 items which are not in sync and don't recognise each other are processing your local chat separately. Turn off the speech control of the implant altogether (by long-touching the speech mode in the Status HUD) if you want the gag to have control.

The implant repeats my local chat talk

When you see your own talk twice in local chat, it's usually that another toy your are using also redirects and prints your chat. These toys could be a gag or HUD, e.g. MicrObey. Turn off the speech control of the implant altogether (by long-touching the speech mode in the Status HUD) if you want another toy to have control.

Although set, the implant doesn't talk dirty

The implant avoids any adult-rated talk or actions on non-adult sims. You can force the implant to accept your parcel as adult by adding the characters $SIA to its parcel description.

Other reasons the implant avoids dirty talk is when silent mode is turned on (check the smiley icon in the Status HUD) or you forgot to run the auto-talk loader (it's in the package, add it and touch the disc).

The implant doesn't listen to commands

Check this list:

Make sure your sexual orientation setting matches the gender of the person who tries to issue a command. Straight orientation does not accept commands from women, lesbian orientation does not accept commands from men.
Make sure your name is set properly; if in doubt, try using your SL username.
For the Slave Implant, make sure it's set to public access (the lock at the Status HUD bottom should be green, not red).
For the Wife Implant, make sure your partner hasn't locked the implant by saying "you're mine now". To lift the partner lock (which may be considered cheating), you can use a backdoor by making a backup of your implant and restoring the backup.
Visit the showroom (landmark is in the package) and try the various speech bubbles.
Try detaching (using the safeword key) and re-attaching the implant.

My arousal score barely changes

First, make sure you're not in silent mode: If the smiley icon in the Status HUD has an X over its mouth, touch it to disable silent mode. Next, check your sexual orientation setting: For example, if set to lesbian, hanging around with a bunch of boys will not impact your arousal (and vice-versa). Go to busy places. Engage in sexual activities. Sit with others on the same furniture. If nothing helps, contact Lava Babii and we'll figure it out.

Is there a complete list of all events that impact libido/arousal?

No. The concept of the implant is to add small simulators over time (for example scanning other peoples' attachments, your addiction levels on Addicted To Yours, Mama Allpa status). Even I don't know the result of every combination of these simulators.

Reputation shows "Hotwife", but implant does not switch to Hotwife mode

To switch to Hotwife mode, following conditions have to be met:

You must wear the Stepford Wife implant. There's no Hotwife mode for Bimbo and Slave.
You must have reached the Hotwife reputation.
Your partner must have a male shape (up to version 4.6.2).
Your sexual orientation must not be lesbian (4.6.3+).
Your partner must not have locked the implant with the "you're mine now" command.

Quickstart

Attach the Stepford Implant (Wife, Bimbo, Slave) to your avatar. Do not use "Wear", but "Add". It will attach on the backside of your neck. Since it's not rigged, you may want to adjust it.

Now attach the Status HUD to your HUD. Again, use "Add", not "Wear". The Status HUD shows current scores and settings of your implant and has a minimise button to reduce its size on your screen.

Setup Step 1: Setting Your Sexual Orientation

The implant supports straight, lesbian and bisexual orientation (latter is default).

The chosen orientation determines to which avatar gender the implant responds. To set your orientation, use the Status HUD and click on the orientation toggle button until you've reached your preference.

The sexual orientation setting can be changed at any time.

Long-touching the button toggles a mode in which the implant only listens to commands from the gender(s) matching your orientation setting.

Setup Step 2: Setting Your Name

Optional, unless you have unicode characters in your display name!

The implant auto-detects the following names for its owner:

The SL name: This is the name you chose as your account name. Older account names had a self-chosen last name, which will also be considered by the implant - the last name "Resident" will not.

Your display name: Many people choose to have special characters (unicode) in their display name. Such names are not viable for the implant.

Let's say your name is Betty, and you chose to use the unicode text 𝓑𝓮𝓽𝓽𝔂 as display name, the implant will not recognise if someone talks to you.

Button to set your name

What you do now is to click on the SET NAME button in your Status HUD and enter the name "Betty".

You can keep your display name as is, and the implant will recognise when someone talks to you.

Setup Step 3: Load Auto-talk Content

Auto-talk content are random text phrases the implant uses to talk on behalf of its wearer.

The implants don't have static, hard-coded auto-talk content anymore. Instead, there's a an Auto-talk Loader HUD that comes with the individual flavour of your implant. Add the HUD and touch the DVD icon in the center of your screen to upload the auto-talk text into your implant.

When you're upgrading to the next version, the new version will perform the upload automatically.

Sim Rating

All features of the Stepford Implant that can be read, seen or heard by others require your location to be rated as ADULT. Dirty talk, animations and sounds are not available on PG and MATURE sims. If you own a parcel on a PG or MATURE sim, you can override this precaution by adding the word $SIA to your parcel description. You, and only you, then are responsible for maintaining the Second Life terms of service and the parcel covenant.

Dirty Talk

The implant has various situations in which talks to someone on behalf of its owner. It talks dirty to people very close or you bump into. The dirty talk gets even more explicit when sexual activity is detected. In Hotwife mode, it sends taunts and sexual activity reports to your husband. Note that dirty talk in public or to anyone but your partner is blocked when you are in a non-adult rated region.

If you and your partner(s) are living in a non-adult region, you can re-activate dirty talk by creating and joining your own group and activating it.

Silent Mode

You can opt out of the dirty talk business by touching the silent mode button in your Status HUD. Touching it again will return to verbose mode. In silent mode, the implant will also not play sounds or animations, send help messages or show the status hovertext. Basically everything that can be seen or heard by others is omitted.

A few words regarding the silent mode (activated through a HUD button): The silent mode is not part of the role play. Your partner can't override it. It's an emergency mode for you for when you enter areas you wish the implant to be quiet, be it that you're shopping and want to be left alone, at a friend's place for a chat or you're simply at a place that doesn't allow for chatty gadgets.

Silent mode will also turn off proximity arousal (increasing arousal when being very close to other avatars), and the status hovertext.

If you don't know what the silent mode is used for, don't use it. Trust me - once you know you need it, you'll be happy it's there.

Debug Mode

When you long-touch the smiley button, the debug mode is activated. In debug mode, you will see every persistent parameter change of the implant in your chat. It is very, very chatty, so please only turn it on when you need it. To deactivate the debug mode, long-touch the smiley button again.

Instant message mode button

Instant Messaging Restrictions

Instant messaging (IM) is restricted with the Stepford Implant. By default there are no IM limitations. Touch the button to change restricted mode in which you can't IM with people on the same parcel except friends. To entirely disallow IMs, long-touch the button.

If you're using the Stepford Wife Implant, your partner will always be able to exchange IMs with you.

Fidelity, Libido And Sexperience Tracking

The implant scores fidelity, iibido and sexual experience. If you are partnered, interaction with your partner counts as positive for your reputation, with others as negative. Based on your fidelity score you will be assigned a reputation tag. Your actions will also impact your libido score.

Sexual contacts are counted in a very broad manner: Any contact with the slightest sexual implication increases its number. So don't worry if it goes up without actual sexual activity.

Her various skills are increasing over time. The included HUD shows your different skill levels (sexperience). Either It's Not Mine or Spunked is required for this to be meaningful. Sexperience points are capped at 200 and decrease over time when there's no activity. Most skills depend on the dirty areas that INM and Spunked indicate, except orgy: The orgy score increases when activity is detected with more than one close avatar.

Libido tracking works with Project Arousal (PA), if you're wearing it. After the implant has detected PA on your body, all libido changes of the implant are sent to PA. The arousal/libido value is synchronised between PA and the implant.

A few things that impact your fidelity and libido scoring (incomplete):

Body functions determined from It's Not Mine, Mama Allpa, Deciduan, Project Arousal, VAW genitals.
Presence and proximity to others.
Presence of your partner.

IQ Scoring and Bimbo Talk

The main trigger for your IQ score is your local chat (yours and others). If your local chat consists mostly of sexual advances, dirty talk and dumb stuff, the score will go down. If you want it to go up, you'd have to visit places with smarter chats.

If you're not that bright and your IQ scores below 70, the implant will automatically switch to bimbo talk which dumbs down the things you say in local chat.

The IQ score is displayed the Status HUD.

If the bimbo talk is not your cup of tea, and you'd like to turn it off entirely, long-touch the BIMBOTALK button in the Status HUD.

Remote control activation and deactivation button

Remote Control

The implant has a remote control feature. Other gadgets, starting with the Stepford Implant Radar, will be able to remotely control the implant without stating local chat commands. The remote control feature can't do anything that local chat commands can't do.

Remote control is considered experimental and turned off by default. Activate it by long-touching the remote control button on the left side of the Status HUD.

Clothes icon appears when undressable items are detected

Undress Me and Smartstrip

The implant supports local chat commands that trigger Denude-enabled apparel and RLV Smartstrip folders to undress/dress the wearer.

My Denude Undress Me script is available on Second Life Marketplace. A detailed description can be found here.

Status HUD

The included status HUD shows your current status at all times. Note that the HUD is not the implant! The following image depicts the various buttons and functions of the HUD:

A relatively new feature is the Stepford Implant radar at the bottom. It shows you the other implants present in the same region, including their implant type and version.

The 24h INM stats will only work if you are wearing It's Not Mine.

Stepford Wife Implant only: Love & Marriage

The Stepford Wife Implant provides a marriage process to connect it to a partner, who then is able to control certain aspects of the implant, like allowing and prohibiting to speak, ordering you not to leave, or removing the implant.

To marry, your prospect partner has to say "<name>, will you marry me?" in local chat. First, you have to accept the proposal. The partner's marriage dialog contains a list of things to agree to before finally accepting.

Your partner is able to issue a list of commands (see below). The implant also informs your partner about your suspicious and whorish activities.

The Stepford Bimbo Implant and the Stepford Slave Implant do not support marriage.

Divorce button in the HUD

Divorce

To split up with your partner, use the button in the Status HUD. You have to long-touch it (hold for more than 3 seconds) to prevent accidental divorces.

Adding your partner to the implant's block list will also trigger a divorce.

Hotwife Mode

Hotwife Mode only works for the Stepford Wife Implant with a male partner (up to version 4.6.2) or bisexual/straight orientation (version 4.6.3+).

The Hotwife Mode is not everyone's cup of tea. So, if by chance you accidentally activated it, you can turn it off by divorce/re-marrying your partner or by restoring a backup taken before the switch.

Once you've reached the worst possible reputation for married women (Hotwife), the implant will ask you to switch into Hotwife Mode. The Hotwife Mode includes following function changes:

Your partner will no longer be able to command you.
Everyone else will be able to command you.
Your partner will receive taunts when trying to command you.
Your partner will receive more messages about your slutty actions.

Once entering the Hotwife Mode, your reputation will not improve anymore. The Hotwife Mode can't be lifted (aside from divorce), so be careful what you wish for.

If you decline to become a hotwife, you have 24 hours to improve your reputation before being asked again.

The Slave Implant: Sync With OpenCollar

The Slave Implant synchronises its settings with OpenCollar. Currently the following values and properties are shared:

Owners and trusted agents of the collar are able to command the implant.
Disabling public access to the collar also disables public access to the implant.
Turning on the collar's RLV relay turns off the implant one, turning it on turns the implant's relay off.
Switching the collar's RLV instant message macro ("IM") also changes the implant's IM mode.
Leashing is recognised by the implant, and pulling the leash impacts the libido.

Others can talk in natural language to a Stepford Implant using local chat. The documentation of those commands has been moved to a separate page. Click here to find out which commands are being processed.

Backup stick button gives you a time-stamped backup stick

Backup Your Implant Data!

The Stepford Implant Backup Stick saves the current status of your Stepford Implant. The saved status contains your marriage status and all scores. You can restore a saved status at any time, and the saved data is backward compatible. Use it to restore the status in case of updates or fresh copies of the implant.

The backup stick is attached to the skull and will appear above your head. It can be touched to open the menu.

Attach the stick and make backups of your implant settings. You can and should have multiple copies of the stick to save different states. To obtain a fresh, timestamped copy of the stick, click on the USB stick icon in your Status HUD.

When switching to an updated version of the implant, backup the old one first, attach the new one and restore from this backup.

Safeword Key

The implant is shipped with a key to unlock and detach it. It is meant to be used in emergencies only and could be considered cheating by others. Basically it should be used only in situations when you would turn off RLV altogether. To use it, simply add the key to your avatar.

Note: The safeword key will not work anymore once your spouse has issued the "you're mine now" command. For emergency purposes there's a work-around: Backup and restore your implant data - the restore function lifts a spouse's hard lock.

Built-In RLV Relay

The internal RLV relay of the Stepford Implant is optional and turned off by default.

To turn it on, long-touch (> 3 seconds) the RELAY button in your Status HUD. When starting up, the relay first checks for the presence of an RLV-enabled viewer, then for a possibly already running RLV relay. The internal relay will reject starting if it detects an external relay you are using.

The implant has a built-in RLV relay, for several reasons:

To avoid having to wear yet another HUD.
To intercept RLV messages in order to impact implant scores.
To intercept RLV undress commands, which typically act out-dated and detach mesh bodies, unwear alpha layers etc. RLV undress commands are relayed to Denude-enabled clothes, if you're wearing them.

Note that the internal relay does not use your external relay. It sends RLV commands directly to your viewer. The search for an external RLV relay has the sole purpose to avoid collisions that may occur when running more than one relay.

Auto-Accept Mode & Ask Mode

By default, the relay runs in auto-accept mode, which means it will accept any RLV commands. Use the SAFEWORD button to lift all restrictions. The relay also has an ask mode, which requests your permission before invoking RLV commands. You have the option trust or ban an object or its owner, or to simply reject the request. Note that the not all devices are able to cope with the delay of asking the user for permission and might run into consistency issues. There's nothing my relay can do about it - use at own risk.

Compatibility With Other Products

The implant works with e. g. It’s Not Mine, Mama Allpa, Deciduan, Project Arousal, all major vagina products, Addicted To Yours and Denude Undress Me (by me). Mostly the implant receives events from these systems that impact fidelity, libido and sexperience scores. It also detects Aeros and Physics male genitals on others which impacts its behaviour.

The package also contains scripts to be dropped into the following products to make them interwork with the implant: CODE-5 Real Spank Ass.

It's Not Mine

The Stepford Implant uses It's Not Mine for many aspects: To determine sexual actions, with whom, to score fidelity/reputation, libido and sexual experience.

Mama Allpa, Deciduan

Besides obvious scoring of sexual actions reported by these products, the implant also tries to determine the fathers identity in case of a pregnancy. However, be aware that the implant does not provide information about 3rd parties to your partner.

Aeros and Physics

The Stepford Implant detects Aeros and Physics male genitals around you, which may impact your scores in one way or another. You're gonna love this!

Project Arousal 2

If you're using Project Arousal 2 (PA2), the implant will detect it and delegates the management the libido status to PA2. It will however send all detected libido-impacting events also to PA2. Hence you may experience that things that never worked together are becoming a little more compatible.

While the obsolete PA1 might still work, I'm not providing support for it.

Denude Undress Me

Denude is a script also created by me. It's a high-quality undress script that's also used by a number of creators. Some partners are making use of the Denude API to undress and dress the implant wearer.

Sensations, Vajayjay, The V Bento, VAW XTC Vagina, Xcite Vagina, Phatpussy

If female genitals of supported brands are detected, the implant controls these depending on the libido score.

If your genital product has different states and/or animations, the implant will trigger these depending on your libido/arousal score.

For products that have orgasm features, the implant will also trigger those.

To turn off automatic triggering of animations of your genital product, touch the animation button in your Status HUD.

Addicted To Yours

Requires Addicted To Yours version 3.0 or higher. Addiction values massively impact the scores of the implant. Your libido will rise fast once your supply falls below a certain threshold, and when the withdrawal symptoms start your reputation will worsen quickly too.

Pretty Liars Spankers

Pretty Liars doesn't provide a well-defined interface, so this integration is my best shot. The implant analyses local chat messages from Pretty Liars equipment to maintain its scores.

Good Moaning Spankers and Rubbers

In cooperation with the creator of Good Moaning spankers and rubbers, the implant has native (API-based) support to impact its scores by activities on said devices.

Sexual Facial Expression II by Chrysanthemum's

The face animation HUD "Sexual Facial Expression II" by Chrysanthemum's is remotely controlled depending in he current arousal/libido score. The implant changes your face animation with arousal/libido increase or decrease.

Turn on the API (a button in the Sexual Facial Expression HUD), and make sure the implant has animations activiated.

RNP Face HUD

The face animation HUD by RNP is now supported. The HUD is remotely controlled depending in he current arousal/libido score. The implant changes your face animation with arousal/libido increase or decrease.

RNP's Face HUD is available for Lelutka, Vista and LAQ.

Spunked Body Cum System

Support for Spunked is considered experimental, since its API doesn't meet all of the implant's requirements. However, a lot works already. Make sure your Spunked system is set to accept 3rd party access (Tgl 3rdParty in its menu).

CODE-5 Real Spank Ass

In order to make these products work with the Stepford Implant, you have to perform the following steps:

Rez the product on a clean (best white) ground.
Press Ctrl+Alt+T to see transparent items.
Right-click / Edit the product.
Drop the plugin script in the contents tab.
I recommend to change the name of the product slightly so you'll know that it has been modified.
Take the product.
Press Ctrl+Alt+T to unsee transparent items.
