Perryville is a town in Cecil County, Maryland. It was first settled in 1622 by Edward Palmer, and it was named for Mary Perry, the wife of settler John Bateman. It served as a railroad town from the 19th to the 20th centuries, and it grew to have a population of 4,419 people in 2016.
Getting in from points southwest like Baltimore and Havre de Grace on the Millard E. Tydings Memorial Bridge on Interstate 95 or the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge on U.S. Route 40 requires a toll of US$8.00 per car or motorcycle across the Susquehanna River. Bicyclists aged at least 18 or with valid driver license may also pay $8.00 to cross the eastbound Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge only within some strict conditions on weekends and local holidays.
