North East, Maryland is about 50 miles from Baltimore and Philadelphia. It is on the North East River, and it is close to both cities. It is also very close to the county seat, Elkton.
Chesapeake City is about 12 miles from Havre de Grace on Maryland's Eastern Shore and about 15 miles from Havre de Grace on Maryland's Western Shore. The town is at the head of the Chesapeake Bay.
Main Street in the heart of downtown North East is full of antique shops, stores, and restaurants. St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church, which is on Main Street, was built in the 1700s. The cemetery next to it is one of the oldest in Maryland.

The community park
The North East Community Park is a good place to go for a quiet walk and see some beautiful scenery. Walks and playgrounds are available at this 10 acre park by the water. There are also picnic tables and restrooms.

To preserve the history of the Upper Bay area, the Upper Bay Museum is in a park near the North East River. It has a lot of memorabilia from hunting, fishing, and boating. Every day from May 1st to Labor Day, the park will be open from noon to 4 pm on Fridays and Sundays from noon to 4 pm. Admission to the museum is free. The winery at Turkey Point
There is a tasting room and store in downtown North East. Every day, there are wine tastings, and the store sells wine and other gifts. The vineyard where the grapes are grown is outside of town, but it's open for special events or to set up a time to visit.
