Elks Represent Well at 2022 Section 8AA Championships

The Elk River Girls Swim & Dive team have had an amazing season and the 8AA Section Championships held in Brainerd on November 11th & 12th was no exception!  The athletes scored points in every event (top16), took home medals in 8 out of 12 events (top 8) and there was a state berth for junior Gabby Odegard in the 100 yard free and 100 yard backstroke. Gabby will compete in the  MSHSL State Championship Meet on November 17th and 18th, 2022 at U of MN Jean K Freeman Center. Class A is at noon and Class AA at 6pm.  Elk River Girls Swim and Dive is in Class AA.

Elk River Takes 3rd at JV Conference Championship Meet

The Elk River Girls Swim & Dive Junior Varsity Team had some amazing swims at the JV Conference Meet held on Saturday, October 29th, 2022  The Lady Elks came in 3rd place. Places 1st through 16th contributed to the team points. What a wonderful group of  young ladies, so excited to see where next year takes them!

Elks Send Four to State AA Championships

Team members representing Elk River Girls Swim & Dive at the AA State Championship meet held at U of MN Aquatic Center.

The Elk River Girls Swim & Dive team sent four ladies to the AA State Championships which took place Nov 19-20, 2021 at the U of MN Aquatic Center. The 200 yd freestyle relay team, made up of Gabby Odegard, Rachel Schlueter, Olivia Seward & Josephine Schmidt,  earned at 14th place finish at the state meet. Rachel Schlueter came back with a 17th place finish in her 50 yd freestyle event. The two alternates included Vanessa Calva and Avery Louder. Congratulations to the Elk River Girls Swim & Dive team for a successful 2021 season!

Elks 4th Overall at 2021 Section 8AA Championships

The Elk River Girls Swim & Dive team have had a phenomenal season and ended it by bringing home multiple medals and TWO state berths at the 8AA Section Championships held in Sartell on November 12th & 13th. The State Championships take place Nov 18-19, 2021 at U of MN Jean K Freeman Center.

Elks Take 2nd Place in 2021 JV Championships!

The Elk River Girls Swim & Dive team took 2nd place in the 2021 NWSC JV Championships hosted by Rogers at Vandenberge Pool, right behind Robbinsdale Armstrong. Other teams participating included Anoka, Maple Grove, Rogers, Osseo & Park Center.

Elks Take 3rd Place at True Team

The Lady Elks earned a 3rd place finish at the True Team swim meet in Sartell on Saturday, October 16, right behind Sartell and Brainerd.  The Elks had top place finishes in the 200 yd medley relay, 200 yd free, 50 yd free, 100 yd free, 100 yd back, 100 yd breast, and 400 yd free relay. 

Elks Beat Centennial 97-84

ERGSD Wins Border Battle Over Rogers 98-80

That's 4 in a row for ERGSD with the win against Rogers 98-80 tonight! That brings their record to 4-1-1 for the season so far.  Way to go Elks!

Another win for the Lady Elks over Coach Odegard’s alma mater, Coon Rapids, 95-83! The team is now 3-1-1 for the season.

ERGSD Upsets Maple Grove 101-85

The Girls Swim & Dive team hosted the 2019 Section 8AA champs on Parent’s Night Sept 24th, Maple Grove Crimson, and came out on top with a big win 101-85! The two teams took turns holding the lead until the second half when Elk River exploded and took the lead for good. Elk River Girls Swim & Dive Announces Interim Head Coach

The Elk River Girls Swim & Dive team is excited to announce that Julie Odegard will take over as the Head Swimming and Diving Coach for the 2021 season. Julie has been involved in the ERGSD program since 2009 when her oldest of three girls joined the team. She has swam since she was 9 ½ and continued through college. Julie was a backstroker and freestyler and earned All-State and All-American honors swimming for Coon Rapids High School. Read more...

2020 8AA Section Championship Meet

Gabby Odegard retained her 200 IM first place title in the 2020 8AA Section Championship meet that took place October 23-24, 2020. By the end of the season (shortened due to COVID), 100% of the team achieved their best times. Elks finished 7th place (out of 13) in NWSC Conference.
