Elias K. Xidias is Assistant Professor at the Department of Products and Systems Design Engineering at the University of the Aegean. He holds a Mathematics degree from the Department of Mathematics (2003) and a Ph.D. from the Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautics Department (2009) of the University of Patras. During the academic year 2017-2018 he worked as a research engineer at INRIA de Paris. His background and research activities are focused in the areas of Motion planning of autonomous machines (robots), Robotic logistics and of Intelligent Transportation Systems. His research work has been published in leading scientific journals and conferences. He has published 19 papers in scientific journals such as Robotics and Autonomous Systems (Impact Factor: 1.618), Applied Soft Computing (Impact Factor: 2.857) and Robotics and Computer Integrated Manufacturing (Impact Factor: 2.077) and 24 papers in conference proceedings. He has been involved as a researcher in numerous European and National R&D projects. He has served as a reviewer for 12 international journals such as IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Magazine and IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Vehicles and for 12 international conferences.
