Inspiration
Once we have our dossier and scripts, we can make our storyboard. It is a kind of comic, but first of all, get inspiration!
Look for a comic you like, try to learn about the way they compose the different images, how strips are organized, bullets, gutters...
I have choosen Tristisima Ceniza by Iñaket & Begoña.
This comic will be following the Spanish Civil War in the Basque Country and the love story between Robert Capa and Gerda Taro.
Iñaket's peculiar drawing style is of a beautiful expressive force, with a characteristic Blue and an interesting comic strip use, it is joined by the documentary effort of Mikel Begoña, creating an interesting work which moves between the historical and the fantastic realms, between realism and fiction.
Now we are going to take the pictures and convert them in a Comic.
The task is the Comic itself, again you explain the process and the difficulties you found.
So Remenber the script and the Story Board.
If you follow them shooting the scene will be much easier.
The Comic
We will work in the already formed team.
Divide the work among the members of the team, each one working on a part of the shooting of the story.
You will write down the process of creation detailing your part.
- With the photographs taken, following the storyboard, the scenes must be following the raccord: position, clothes, places...
- You can use the Artificial Inteligence or some application to transform the pictures into drawings:
Comika for Android or Clip2board for Apple.
- Create a comprehensible narration between the images.
Use the bubbles that the application provides.
This comic was a story a fellow student proposed and it was inspired by "Minekraft" the game.
Do different drafts! Then you will draw the final version (the storyboard), having in mind the literary and the technical script.
Eventually, you take the photograps and treat them in a comic app and add the bubbles.
You have created your own comic!!!
