Youth Resource Center

Objective:

This purpose of the activity/this is to inculcate the values and habits of reading in rural youth. To acquire the suitable environment, place, space through contribution of villagers in monetary terms and ultimately the rejuvenation of the villages this knowledge project is designed and is on the verge of implementation. We have to spread this movement all over Maharashtra as it is said that the educated and aware young one could bring and sustain change. This "decentralization of the wisdom and knowledge", breaking its "enforced monopoly" is the ultimate goal we are willing to achieve.

Programe:

One Village-One Library movement is motivated by the changes that started at Pimpri Khandare, a hamlet in Vidarbha where motivated youth attempted to deliver changes through knowledge. The library was basis of the larger structure of the village transformation movement that was all framed around the single center i.e. youth resource center. It developed a concept of Library as YOUTH RESOURCE CENTER that can be a bank of resources for the betterment of villages. The idea believes in power on knowledge hence aims towards the "decentralization of knowledge", transferring the unjust monopoly that cities enjoy over knowledge as part of urban bias seen across all fields of society.

It's our firm belief that the monstrous gap in Rural & Urban India can be only filled by linking the knowledge- the only bridge that can join the all. The wider the reach of the modern thoughts & ideas will be spread to the rural arena, the more closer the villages will move towards the center of development. The cosmopolitan cities have been built on the knowledge that must be transferred to the commons and masses where most of the Indian youth is situated.

It is small step to nurture wisdom & to inculcate reading habit in rural area. The distinguished program is to inspire the creativity of educated, motivated and independent youth who are "Catalysts of Change" and believe in values of community & responsibility towards society. Who are learner through guidance of eminent personalities, thoughts and experiences, who are voracious and comprehensive reader, involved in structural and inspirational works in order to identify their owns capabilities, creator of bright future and working for development of the village through self development. It aims towards developing new capabilities among leaders of tomorrow who can bring possibilities of "Village Transformation" in reality using all resources within the village in order to build Self reliant and self sustainable community.

The flow of books are made through Book Collection Drives organised over the years since 2011 in various cities across Maharashtra. This ensures active participation of urban population in building & investing in new avenues for knowledge and reciprocation of their share towards independent community building.
