Concomitant with its democratic structure as a partnership, in which all partners have equal decision-making rights, EIG does not have either a Chairperson or a Board of Directors.
It does, however, have an Executive Committee, which:
oversees EIG activities and speaks on its behalf;
carries out general administrative tasks;
keeps all important records.
It may take minor and administrative decisions involving less than C$2,000 but all other decisions are put to a vote among all partners.
The Executive Committee may consist of between three and seven members, including Treasurer and Secretary, who are elected at each Annual General Meeting. Committee members may succeed themselves in the same office for an indefinite number of terms. If a position becomes vacant during the year, the remaining members of the committee may appoint a replacement to act temporarily until the elections at the next AGM.
