We strongly believe in collaborative research and therefore we are always on the lookout for exciting opportunities to collaborate in the broader field of mechanics of material including both micromechanical material modeling and experimental mechanics. In addition, please dont hesitate to reach out for some other exciting research.

We are looking for 1 Ph.D (TA), 1 JRF (can be converted to PhD) and 2 M.Tech by Research students to join our group in the following broad research areas (Research Areas for M.Tech by Research can be derived from Ph.D research work)

1. Crystal plasticity modeling of Deformation behavior (mechanisms) of HCP structural alloys (Mg, Ti) based on experimental observations.

2. Micromechanical modeling of mechanical behavior of materials used in extreme environments (for example, high temperature Ni-based superalloys, Metals & alloys for nuclear applications)

3. Design and development of Biodegradable and Biocompatible Zn-Mg based alloys for temporary medical implants using casting (+forming) or solid state (FSP) processing route

4. Integration of modeling, experiments and data-driven (AI/ML) approaches for Improved mechanical reliability of additively manufactured (AM) structural alloys.

5. Design and development of multi-phase advanced high strength steels (AHSS) for automotive application.

6. Experimentally informed field dislocation mechanics model for Al-Cu-Li aerospace alloys

7. Experimental and numerical investigation of hydrogen embrittlement of metals & alloys used for the storage & transportation of hydrogen
