Provost Road is closed due to Columbia Gas Work.

Questions can be directed to Ron Thompson, Project Manager, at 724-986-8936

Workers with trucks with IL plates will only say they're from "Columbia Gas"

They will not be able to comment.

Provost Road Updates

Provost Road is currently blocked North of the gas station at Weyman and Provost.

You cannot go North to Provost on Weyman for passage to 51

You cannot go North on Provost past the Weyman for passage to 51

You can turn onto Weyman from Provost.

You can turn onto Provost from Weyman.

The Marathon Gas station is open for business.

It appears as though staging of equipment is happening at the parking lot of the Fairhaven club at 7 Provost Road 15227

Even though the work is done by Columbia Gas and PennDot, it is impacting our daily lives. Only those who dig get the timeline. I dug so you don't have to.

Whitehall's first announcement September 2022:

And then Crickets for for 5 more months!

Until 4/25/2023 a fuzzy image was posted on the Whitehall Borough Facebook page. Comments turned off, as usual.

And then uploaded over the weekend as a pdf but announced nowhere.

But it is a simple copy and paste job from the orginal source from Columbia Gas:

On 4/30, I walked up Greenlee to Provost and Frank dropping off a printable copy as seen below. I grew up on Provost Road as a child, graduated from Harrison JR High, Baldwin High School, CCAC, and the University of Pittsburgh while living at Provost Road. I'm very sorry about what how this must disrupt your daily life.

5/12, I called PA State Rep Nick Piscantano's office to say the good news about Provost Road reopening but there are still detouring through Greenlee Street. I believed that the Greenlee Street detour was no longer necessary and asked if PennDot could please take down the signs soon. This request was passed to PennDot.

Speeding on Greenlee, Streets Run Road, and Prospect. - Citzens are asking for better enforcement.

Whitehall Police has a total of 4 speed feedback signs.

One more sign feedback sign has serviced on Greenlee Westbound but this might be Penndot-provided.

Speedbumps were discussed at the 5/3/2023 council meeting but no action was taken. That's fine because speed bumps work best on evenly graded road.

Next: More flooding on Doverdale Drive near Whitehall Elementary from yet another contracting buddy of Gateway Engineering.

Huge Gravel stockpile near Whitehall Elementary

Whitehall Elementary

Blocked Soccer and Baseball fields

More Gas work at the top of Doverdale

The people surrounding Whitehall Elementary have endured enough property damage due to water overruns. Entire basement levels were flooded. BWSD had to make sure the storm sewage overruns would flow into the Doverdale storm sewer tanks before they got the permission to proceed with the project. Gateway Engineering assures us that there won't be a problem.

While the Whitehall Engineering and Gas work on Doverdale are two seperate projects, let's continue to watch this to make sure the two projects do not conflict.

Do you trust Gateway Engineering when they say that there will be no problems? I don't for what they've done to Whitehall Parks.
