Welcome to Effective Small-Group Instruction! My name is Lydia Hernandez, and I will be your instructor for this course. I currently serve as an Assistant Principal of Instruction and work closely with elementary teachers to support instruction and student learning.
This course is designed to help elementary teachers use student data and evidence of learning to make purposeful decisions about small-group instruction. The course is organized into four lessons that will guide you through creating purposeful groups, determining what students need, planning and delivering targeted instruction, and monitoring student progress to determine when groups should change.
I’m excited to have you here. Let’s get started!
