I am a geologist with a background in basin analysis, geophysics, and hydrogeology. I hold a BSc in Geology and an MSc in Applied Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Derby, where I developed a strong interest in sedimentary systems, basin analysis, and subsurface interpretation.
My experience spans geophysical surveying, mineral exploration data analysis, and groundwater consultancy. I have worked on geophysical subsurface mapping, interpreting geophysical datasets to characterise stratigraphy and geohazards, and more recently on hydrogeological studies involving conceptual groundwater models, basin-wide aquifer analysis, and water resource assessments.
I have passed the Fundamentals of Geology exam and hold the Geologist-in-Training (GIT) designation, and I am currently working toward the Professional Geologist (PG) license and Chartered Geologist (CGeol) accreditation.
My primary interests lie in sedimentary basin systems, well log interpretation, and building geological models from subsurface data. I particularly enjoy integrating datasets to construct cross sections, interpret depositional environments, and understand the structural and stratigraphic controls on fluid flow and reservoir quality.
Outside of work, I spend much of my time outdoors, particularly hiking and backpacking. I often use these trips as an opportunity to observe and think about geology in a more informal setting. I also have a strong interest in landscape photography, shooting exclusively on film, with a focus on capturing geological features and natural environments. A selection of this work is included on this site.
I am also passionate about running, playing/watching football, and most of all, spending quality time with my wife and baby daughter.
