The initiative
Are you passionate about making a difference in the world? Do you want to develop skills that prepare you for leadership, collaboration, and innovation in addressing global challenges? Do you want to get a chance to visit other countries to learn about their SDG initiatives?
Then you may be just who we're looking for. The SDGxEL Program is looking for 120 dedicated students to become SDG Ambassadors for the AY 2025-2026. As an ambassador, you will:
Join an innovative co-curriculum that integrates the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into real-life learning.
Participate in interactive modules designed to build key SDG competencies, including systems thinking, collaboration, and critical problem-solving.
Engage in peer-to-peer learning, helping spread awareness and action across campus.
Have the opportunity to participate in an overseas study trip to learn about SDG efforts in a global context.
No prior experience is needed—just an open mind and a commitment to learning and creating positive change!
The Co-Curriculum Meetings
The co-curriculum will involve in-person and online classes where ambassadors participate in experiential learning activities about each of the 17 SDGs. Face-to-face meetings will be twice a month only, on Friday evenings at 6:30 PM-9:00PM, except during classes involving out-of-campus activities. The rest of the meetings will be self-paced on Moodle. To ensure we cover all SDGs in-depth, the co-curriculum will be implemented for two semesters, from October 2025 to March 2026.
More details can be found on the Programme Brief below:
Culminating Activities
At the end of the co-curriculum, ambassadors will be given the opportunity to:
Plan, design, and implement their own SDG activity
With your peers, you will work together to implement an SDG activity that engages other students in EdUHK. Your activities will be supervised by the project team, and your goal is to encourage other students to learn more about sustainable development.
Go on a sponsored international study trip with fellow ambassadors
Eligible students can apply for one of three sponsored international study trips to get first-hand experience on how sustainable development is being implemented beyond Hong Kong. You and your fellow ambassadors will visit one international location known for its efforts in implementing sustainable development.
How to join:
Be part of a movement that connects learning with action. Together, let’s shape a more sustainable future through education!
