The SDG×EL Co-Curriculum program culminated its in-campus events with a vibrant SDG Fest celebration on 31 March 2026. Held on the EdUHK B1-B2 Corridor, the one-day event saw student ambassadors step into the role of sustainability advocates, engaging fellow students through interactive games, trivia challenges, and curated photo and video exhibits that highlighted the co-curriculum's priority SDGs. The Fest transformed learning into a lively, hands-on experience.
Throughout the day, the atmosphere was filled with energy as students eagerly participated in activities designed by the ambassadors. The ambassadors showcased their creativity through hand-drawn posters that added a personal and vibrant touch to the event. Game booths offered a variety of interactive challenges: one invited participants to test their knowledge of SDGs through a card-matching game that paired foods with whether they were rich in vitamins or protein; another, designed for SDG 4 (Quality Education), challenged players to match Hong Kong traffic signs with their meanings. A building block activity encouraged participants to construct structures while learning about the importance of SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). A dedicated station for SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) invited students to write mental wellness slogans and exchange encouraging messages with one another. Beyond the games, the ambassadors also prepared thoughtful giveaways, including custom calendars, bookmark clips, and eco-friendly brooches featuring sustainability-themed designs. The SDGxEL team contributed cookies, coffee vouchers, and even T-shirts to reward participants and celebrate their engagement.
Another engaging activity was the interactive voting booth, where students were invited to answer: "Which SDG is your favorite?" Through this simple yet meaningful question, the SDGxEL team helped broaden participants' understanding of the SDGs, moving beyond the common misconception that sustainability is solely about environmental issues and sparking dialogue on how sustainable development is inherently interconnected.
The success of the SDG Fest would not have been possible without the dedication of the participating students, the creativity and enthusiasm of the SDGxEL ambassadors, and the collaborative efforts of the SDGxEL team. Together, they brought the SDGs to life in a way that was engaging, meaningful, and deeply connected to the university's vision of cultivating students as leaders of sustainability in higher education.
