The EdUHK Experiential Learning for Sustainable Development (SDG×EL) Initiative
This SDG project is motivated by two core values: Youth and Education. The youth inherit the future of sustainability from their predecessors, and education is the foundation through which lasting change is built. By inspiring the next generation of youth through Higher Education, we can create a world where sustainable practices are deeply embedded in every facet of society.
We aim to unite, equip, and mobilize young people in Higher Education through programs, workshops, and experiential learning activities where they will acquire tools and knowledge to take on the challenge of achieving the SDGs. We envision a network of passionate, informed young leaders who are committed and capable of making a tangible difference for a more sustainable future.
Together, we’re paving the way for the next wave of change-makers to rise up and lead the charge for a brighter tomorrow.

The importance of the SDGs and being competent to be part of the sustainability solution cannot be understated. This makes it even more important to create instruments that can help us measure SDG competency and literacy, so we can develop programs that empower everyone to live sustainable lives.

Our project focuses on all 17 Sustainable Development Goals as part of a holistic approach to sustainability, and we place particular emphasis on SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
These priorities are a reflection of the pressing issues facing our society and the revolutionary power of education to solve them. However, we also acknowledge that the SDGs are intricately linked; by addressing our top priorities, we begin to influence other global concerns in the direction of the 2030 Agenda as a whole.
