In June 2024, Mr. Martin went from the classroom to the global stage — Mr. Martin proved that heart, hustle, and teamwork can take you anywhere by competing on The Amazing Race-Season 35 on CBS.

In October of 2021, Mr. Martin received a district level recognition for being honorably mentioned as being a "Best of the Best" district employee.
Dr. Edmundo E.F. Litton Research Award
April 2020
In April of 2020, Mr. Martin received the Dr. Edmundo E.F. Litton Research in Urban Education Award. This is an award which recognizes top researchers within LMU's School of Education Master's program. This was achieved through my group thesis entitled, "The Impact of Busing and Integration: Parent Perceptions and School Realities in South Los Angeles."

During the 2020-2021 School year, Mr. Martin took on a Team Leadership role at Mira Loma Middle School. This position entailed leading the 7th grade Social Studies department and training teachers on curriculum and implementation.

During the 2019-2020 School year, Mr. Martin took on a Team Leadership role at Carver Middle School. This extra job and responsibility is nominated and chosen by LAUSD's Partnership program which identifies school site's top and upcoming difference maker educator at select school sites.
