My Goals for the upcoming school year are threefold. Firstly, I would like to continue as technology leader at my school by implementing my “Technology Professional Development Plan.” The role I have taken on a facilitator of professional development has been a rewarding and beneficial experience for both my colleagues and myself. As a member of my school’s technology department, I hope to continue to be an essential support figure for my fellow teachers during distance learning.
Additionally, I hope to continue my work as a technology mentor. I enjoy the one-on-one relationship I have developed with my mentee. It is gratifying to help a new teacher to improve their pedagogy. I want to continue my relationship with my current mentee and in time I would like to expand my outreach to other teachers who are interested in improving their skills teaching with technology.
My final goal is to continue working with the curriculum departments at my school to seamlessly integrate educational technology into my school’s curriculum in a meaningful way. I am already a member of the Social Studies department and have worked with them to improve our use of educational technology within the history curriculum. Moving forward, I would like to expand my efforts to include all core subject areas.
The experience I have gained during my CSUF Master’s Program has reinforced to me the importance of being a lifelong learner. In today’s ever changing environment, it is essential that teachers are adaptable and up to date with the exciting new opportunities arising within the world of educational technology. With this goal in mind, I have already signed up to complete my Leading Edge Certification (LEC) in the Spring of 2021. Additionally, I plan to attend (Covid permitting) this year’s major tech conferences. I will continue working to be at the forefront of educational technology so that I can continue to be an ISTE leader and coach at my school moving forward.
