AECT Stanards

AECT 1.2 Candidates demonstrate the ability to select and use technological resources and processes to support student learning and to enhance their pedagogy.

Justification:

• Collection of classroom resources chosen to promote student learning in all subject areas taught in an elementary setting
• Multiple grade level implementation resources available for all elementary teachers to use
• Justification provided for staff education on technology to enhance knowledge for all teachers

AECT 2.3 Candidates demonstrate an inquiry process that assesses the adequacy of learning and evaluates the instruction and implementation of educational technologies and processes grounded in reflective practice.

Justification:

• Needs Assessment based on reflections from previous experience working on the Instructional Leadership Team, which demonstrated a severe lack of technological understanding shown by classroom teachers
• Best Practices and implementation advice provided for teachers by subject matter, based on needs recognized through past experiences and outlined research

AECT 2.5 Candidates design and select media, technology, and processes that emphasize the diversity of our society as a multicultural community.

Justification:

• The Social Studies resource page includes tools for promoting tolerance, open-mindedness, and historic reflection meant to improve student understanding of past racial, gender, and religious conflict
• The ELA resource page includes websites with texts in multiple languages for English Language Learners
• The Art resource page showcases street art in local urban environments as well as historical masterpieces and museums from countries around the world
