AECT Standards

AECT 1.5 Candidates demonstrate the contemporary professional ethics of the field as defined and developed by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology.

Justification:

• All web spaces and online learning environments developed according to ISTE 2016 standards
• All resources were cited and/or embedded into Google Sites with a link provided to the original creator's page
• Fair Use implemented when sharing educational resources with other teaching professionals

AECT 4.3 Candidates analyze and interpret data and artifacts and reflect on the effectiveness of the design, development and implementation of technology-supported instruction and learning to enhance their professional growth.

Justification:

• Read, analyzed, discussed, and reflected on many different researched methods of technology integration and design including: the flipped flipped classroom, creating effective online learning environments , coding in classrooms, gamefication, multimedia learning, using social networks, computer-based collaboration, and technology management in the classroom
• Acknowledges change and improvements made in own design, creation, and use of technology in teaching practice from the first to last online projects of graduate study
• Recognizes need for continued research, experimentation, analysis, and reflection on technology implementation

AECT 5.1 Candidates demonstrate foundational knowledge of the contribution of research to the past and current theory of educational communications and technology.

Justification:

• Understands history of failed technology integration of the 1970s and 1990s
• Recognizes the necessity of embedding technology into all lessons authentically, rather than as a supplement or to replace paper and pencil
• Sees technology as a means for students to become global leaders of the future, and recognizes importance of meeting ISTE standards
