Our audience will be UTRGV Upward Bound high school students. Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Upward Bound serves: High school students from low-income families; and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree. The goal of upward bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.Â
Our target audience likely has no prior experience with the field of Educational Technology. As true beginners, they will need appropriate supports to access the material at their learning level. Additionally, it is assumed that they will all have access to internet-capable devices (phone, tablet, computer) in order to access the multimedia presentation. We must also ensure the content is appropriate for learners with diverse educational backgrounds and experiences. The students may also want to share this resource with their teachers and parents (or even future employers), so creating something universally engaging and to all audiences is essential.
